Every WCH RISC-V MCU in our store debugs over single-wire SDI. The WCH-Link family is the common programming bridge — used by MounRiver Studio, PlatformIO, ch32v003fun/minichlink, OpenOCD and Zephyr (wlink runner). If you buy a CH32V part, you will likely buy one of these next.

What you need to know

WCH-LinkEThe RISC-V-generation probe: single-wire SDI, and switchable firmware that also makes it a WCH-Link for ARM parts. Works with MounRiver Studio, minichlink, OpenOCD and Zephyr west. Firmware is field-upgradeable with WCH-LinkUtility.
Onboard variantsSeveral official EVT boards (e.g. CH32V307V-EVT) include an onboard WCH-Link, selectable by jumper — convenient for bring-up before you add a standalone probe.
Open-source supportThe community minichlink and Zephyr's wlink runner both drive WCH-LinkE, so you are not locked into a proprietary IDE.

Questions

Can WCH-LinkE debug both RISC-V and ARM chips?

Yes. The probe firmware can be switched between WCH-LinkE (RISC-V) and WCH-Link (ARM) modes.

Do I need a separate adapter for CH32V003?

No — the single-wire SDI interface on all CH32V parts connects directly to WCH-LinkE (SWIO pin).
